- Explore the green island of Poros
- Escape in the romantic Hydra
- Meet Aegina, the island that took its name from a nymph
After transferring from Athens to the port by motor coach, we’ll set sail for the island of Poros, where you’ll have free time for strolling and shopping. Head ashore at the colorful capital and enjoy around two hours to look around on your own.
Poros is the island of peace, romance and jauntiness. Its Historic Clock was built in 1927 and it is imposing from the distance on the highest top of the hill, making it visible from every part of the island. It is a true jewel of the town. At the centre of town you can find a lot of attractions such as the archaeological museum, the library, the picturesque church of Virgin Mary and the Temple of Poseidon.
As you approach the island of Hydra admire the colourful harbor. You will have about 1.5 hours at leisure to enjoy the unique charms of Hydra island, whose amphitheater shape once served as a safe shelter for Saronic Pirates. Amble down the narrow lanes, relax over coffee, or buy souvenirs in the quaint shops. As an asset, you can explore the island on your own schedule with a free self-guided audio tour.
Hydra is known for the old traditional stone houses and mansions, the cobblestoned streets and the use of around 500 donkeys as means of public transportation. A yachting paradise and, at the same time, a religious point of interest with 300 churches and 6 monasteries spread around the island, Hydra is a true mosaic of culture.
Aegina is a verdant island known for its great production of colourful pistachios. The Greek Island has a lovely capital full of fine neoclassical buildings and attractions that any visitor should explore. The famous monastery of Saint Nektarios is located opposite the mountain of Paleochora (Old village), where the old capital used to be. The monastery was built between 1904 and 1910 by a monk, Nektarios, who was one of the latest canonized people of the Greek Orthodox Church. Upon arrival in Aegina, you can choose to be part of a guided excursion to Aegina’s ancient Temple of Aphaia or take a walk around the main town.
