Athens – Mycenae – Nafplio

Departure from Athens to Nafplio. We will stop for a coffee at the Isthmus of Corinth to admire the famous Corinth Canal. Then we will pass by Nemea, where during the Panhellenic games, Hercules killed the horrible lion of the region. We then continue to Mycenae, where we visit the Acropolis, which was the Palace of Agamemnon. We will admire the Cyclops Walls, the Lion Gate and the Tomb of Atreus. Lunch will follow at a local restaurant. We continue to Nafplio. Visit to the fortress Palamidi, which after the Revolution was used as a prison, where in 1833 Theodoros Kolokotronis was imprisoned and released 11 months later, after the grace of King Otto. Arrival at the hotel. Settle in rooms. In the afternoon free time to walk to the first capital of modern Greece. In Nafplio you will have the opportunity to see many interesting attractions such as Syntagma Square – the square of the plane during the first revolution – where we will find the Parliament Building, the first Greek parliament and formerly a Turkish mosque.

Dimitsana

Nafplio – Tripoli – Dimitsana – Vasta – Sparta

After breakfast depart for Tripoli. Short stop and depart for Dimitsana. We cross the Stemnitsa with the traditional stone houses, built on a gorge of Lousios river. Arrival in Dimitsana and visit Water Museum (individual costs). Pilgrimage to Nea Moni Philosophou and visit the Secret School, where studied the Patriarch Gregory V and Palaion Patron Germanos. We will visit and the library of Dimitsana, which houses patriarchal gospels, manuscripts, codes, the stamp of Patriarch Gregory V and the urn with the bones of Paleon Patron Germanos. Malevi – Mystras – Monemvasia – Sparta

Breakfast and departure for a pilgrimage to holy mountain of Parnonas. Visit to the oldest Monastery that was built on the mountain, in the Monastery Malevis. Monemvasia

Savour the famous macaroons and try the famous local Malvasia wine. Back to Sparta. Dinner. Overnight.

Sparta – Gythio – Caves Diros – Kalamata

After breakfast depart for the Diros Caves. Stop at Gythio. With individual costs we visit Alepotrypa, Katafygi and Glyfada. They are among the finest in the world with rich decoration of stalactites and stalagmites. Impressive is the rich natural decoration with the Throne Rooms, the Calvary, the pink curtains, the tails of fox, the golden rain, the jellyfishes and many more that we find in our land and lake tour in an underground river length of 1600 meters. Lunch in the coastal region of Taygetos and departure to Kalamata with a stop in Kardamyla. Arrival in Kalamata and to hotel. Settle in rooms. Dinner. Overnight.
Gythio

Kalamata – Methoni – Pylos – Olympia

Breakfast and departure for pilgrimage to the church of Panaghia of Ipapanti and the monastery of Kalograion. We continue to Methoni. Short stop and then arrival in picturesque Pylos, the beautiful town which is built in the bay of Navarino, one of the most picturesque ports of the Peloponnese. The Battle of Navarino, which was held on October 20, 1827, with the Turkish fleet and the united forces of England, France and Russia was the reason for signing the freedom of Greece. Stop for lunch in the square three Allies. In the Neo Kastro at the port there is a small museum with a representation of the famous Battle. Pylos

Olympia – Patras

Breakfast and departure to visit the archaeological site and the museum of Olympia. Lunch at Pyrgos and passing through Lechaina, Manolada, Lagia arrive at the winery Achaia Clauss. Visit, tour and testing of the unique Mavrodaphne. We continue with a pilgrimage to the temple of the patron saint of the city of Patras, St. Andrew. Arrival at the hotel. Settle in rooms. Dinner. Overnight.
Olympia

Patra – Kalavryta – Agia Lavra – Mega Spileo – Cave Limnon – Plataniotissa – Osios Patapios – Athens

Breakfast and departure for Panagia Tripiti at Aigio. Pilgrimage and continue to Kalavryta. Visit the Martyrdom Place of city over the fir-covered slopes of Helmos, where the Germans on 13 December 1943 executed all the men of the village and burned the historic city. Then we will visit Agia Lavra, the church of which was erected in 1821 by Palaion Patron Germanos the historical flag of the Revolution to the curtain of the beautiful Gate. There the lads swore, marking the beginning of the Greek Revolution of 1821. Visit to the site with the historical relics. Then visit and pilgrimage to Megalo Spilaio. It is one of the most important monasteries in Greece. Perched on the Aroania Mountains, in a huge cave is located the monastery. In its interior is kept the image of Panaghia that holds the Christ in her right. Made of wax and mastic is a work of Evangelist Loukas.

Also, inside the monastery there is a rich collection of rare relics, holy icons, remains of saints, crosses golden bull, embroidered pictures and priestly vestments. We continue our way to the Cave of the Lakes. With individual costs will visit the unique space with the interconnecting lakes. Close to the Pteri of Aigion will visit one of the most wondrous, strange and remarkable pilgrimage of our faith. Panagia Plataniotissa where the name is either of the nearby village, or by the huge plane tree that the ellipsoidal hollow became a temple dedicated to the Assumption. Tradition says that on the period of iconoclasm, monks of M. Spilaio spent the night in the hollow. The morning found that the image of the Virgin imprinted on the wood of the cavity.
